My coffee shipment arrived warm, is it still good?

CoolBrew^® is perishable, but it's not so sensitive to heat that it will go off really fast like milk. We try to minimize the heat by insulating the box. It can normally last about 5 days off of refrigeration. For shipping, we don't allow more than 3 days. It will undoubtedly be warm when you get it, and that's okay. But if you want it to last more than a week, you should get it in the refrigerator right away.

How long does it last?

CoolBrew^® is dated 120 days from the date of manufacture. It is not a hard and fast expiration date; it is a "best if used" by date. We won't ship it with less than 2 months of shelf life remaining. Off of refrigeration, the shelf life is about 5 days. We don't let it go more than 3 days for shipping. Once you open the bottle you should use it within 2 weeks for best flavor.

It can be frozen for up to a year, but we recommend you thaw it completely and give it a shake before using it.

How do you calculate the shipping cost?

Our shipping costs are the actual UPS and DHL charges. We don't inflate the rate. Since CoolBrew^® is perishable, we have to limit the time that it is off refrigeration. We have set that limit at 3 days. If you live outside of the 3-day ground delivery area, you can only select a 1-day, 2-day or 3-day shipping option. We would very much like to have retail outlets in your area, but at this time the only place to get CoolBrew^® to you is by parcel.

What is "Cold Filtration" or "CoolBrewing"?

Cold Filtration is a unique process of capturing the full flavor of freshly roasted coffee using only cold water. There is no heat used in a cold water process, so most of the bitter acids normally found in hot brewed coffee remain in the grounds.

What is chicory?

Chicory is the root of the endive plant. The leafy top is used like lettuce in salads. The root is dried, roasted and ground like coffee. When it is mixed with ground coffee it adds body to the flavor. Chicory has no caffeine and it is the secret ingredient in New Orleans' world renowned Café au Lait.
